DGUNH April meeting at the Red Blazer

Carol and our guest speakers, Chrissy and her associate

On April, we had our general meeting at the Red Blazer in Concord, NH.

Our guest speaker this time was Chrissy Neumyer Smith and Jennifer Thurston from The Whole Pet Grooming Academy.

Chrissy is an instructor for the Master Groomer Behaviour Specialist (MGBS) Diploma Program and Host of the Creating Great Grooming Dogs podcast.

She and her associate gave us a wonderful speech on the importance of grooming, massaging and caring of K9’s.

If you would like to contact Chrissy on more information about grooming, she can be reached at her email address: chrissy@happycritters.net.

The second half of the meeting was dedicated to the Janet Akins Memorial award.

Usually this award is given to one person yearly for outstanding dedication and service to the Dog Guide Group of New Hampshire. This year was given to Marie Johnson who was a board member and our treasurer.

Marie has recently passed and her award was accepted by Julie Clark for Marie’s daughter Theresa.

The second award was given to Takashi Nakaya for his many years od dedicated service as our webmaster of the Dog Guide Users group and a board member.

And the third award was given to Larry Ashford for all the years of dedication to the Dog Guide User group as vice president, past treasurer, board member and for running the PA sound system at our meetings.

Our Next general meeting will be held in August at one of our members home for a Pizza Party. More details will be sent out to our members by email closer to the date.
